As I walked under the apple tree, A rosy fruit fell down. As I walked under the apple tree, It knocked off my gold crown. Oh, if you could see me now, Without my golden crown, Oh, if you could see me now, Without my velvet gown… Oh river running through my heart Is red as any blood, And feet cannot be told apart From roots buried in mud. Star inside the apple fruit, You hold the tiny key, Go look inside your own red heart And follow what you see… As I walked under the apple tree, A rosy fruit fell down. As I walked under the apple tree, It knocked off my gold crown. Oh, if you could see me now, Without my golden crown, Oh, if you could see me now, Without my velvet gown… Oh river running through my heart Is red as any blood, And lips cannot be told apart From roses new in bud. Star inside the apple fruit, You hold the tiny key, Go look inside your own red heart And from your masks be free… Beyond the mask, the river flows, Beyond the mask, wildflowers grow, Beyond the mask, the heart it knows, Beyond the mask, true power shows, Oh it shows. As I walked under the apple tree…

L-Plates 04:06
Inside my cocoon I’ve been dreaming of How else I could be being, Of the wings I could be growing from This piece of cloth That I’m sewing – Put L-Plates on my heart, Getting ready to go outside, I’m a learner, I’m a liver, I’m a lover Almost ready to come alive, Put L-Plates on my heart, Getting ready to go outside, I’m a learner, I’m a liver, I’m a lover Almost ready to come alive… It all must come unravelling, Deep into present travelling, Into myself evolving, Dissolve in the darkness And then dawning… Put L-Plates ‘bove my eyes Getting ready to go outside, I’m a learner, I’m a liver, I’m a lover Almost ready to open wide Put L-Plates ‘bove my eyes Getting ready to go outside, I’m a learner, I’m a liver, I’m a lover Almost ready to open wide… Oh my cocoon unravels into a ball of twine, now it’s onwards I must travel in this tapestry of time… Put L-Plates on my wings Now I’m ready to go outside, I’m a learner, I’m a liver, I’m a lover And I’m ready to come alive Put L-Plates on my wings Now I’m ready to go outside, I’m a learner, I’m a liver, I’m a lover And I’m ready to come alive… ALIVE!

Fool's Gold 06:24
I have decided to explore, So don’t you tell me where I need to go! I have decided to explore, So don’t you tell me know I need to be! You won’t catch me – I’m protected by my freedom, You won’t catch me, even if I fall. You won’t catch me – I’m protected by my freedom, You can’t catch me, even if I fall… Let the pearls of my truth Stir into co-creation, Life is just a big mix-up as the Gods They raise their cocktail-cups, We’re losing the battle with living perfection As mischief shoots his bow and arrows through us all… I have decided to explore, So don’t you tell me where I need to go. I have decided to explore, So don’t you tell me know I need to be. You won’t catch me – I’m protected by my freedom, You won’t catch me, even if I fall. You won’t catch me – I’m protected by my freedom, You can’t catch me, even if I fall… Let my anger swirl down the Plughole to the Underworld, and Emerge shining, with its sweet strength And its good word Powering my heart and fresh on my lips, ‘cause it’s with these arrows that we cannot miss… I have decided to explore, So don’t you tell me where I need to go. I have decided to explore, So don’t you tell me know I need to be. You won’t catch me – I’m protected by my freedom, You won’t catch me, even if I fall. You won’t catch me – I’m protected by my freedom, You won’t catch me, even if I fall… Oh but how could I think of moving on that fast? Wasn’t ready to leave your magic land behind – how could I think of moving on that fast? I still want it in my life… I have decided to explore And I won’t let treasure pass me by, But we won’t live for wanting more If it’s fool’s gold that Gets into our eyes… How could I think of moving on so fast? Wasn’t ready to leave your magic land behind… The calls of the future echo in the past And guide us towards the light. Guide us towards the light…

Footsteps 03:15
You are your own light shining, Don’t matter if the sun’s up or down, You are your own light shining, If your shadow is huge or no-where to be found. Footsteps on footsteps on footsteps of old, Colourful leaves falling, gathering mould, Building new stories we want to be told, Galloping through ancient forest… You are your own light shining, Don’t matter if the sun’s up or down, You are your own light shining, If your shadow is huge or no-where to be found. Footsteps on footsteps on footsteps of old, Colourful leaves falling, gathering mould, Building new stories we want to be told, Swimming across rising oceans… I loosen my heartstrings, I bend this clock-time, Oh walk at your own pace, Let the wind see your true face, Just breathe at your own speed, There’s nothing to do except Let this beautiful life live through you, and red threads that connect us Beyond all boundaries, Making great webs of our family trees, Yes, red threads do connect us, Look close and you’ll see There’s no separation Between you and me… But you are your own light shining, Don’t matter if the sun’s up or down, You are your own light shining, If your shadow is huge Or nowhere to be found – Footsteps on footsteps on footsteps of old, Colourful leaves fallen, Gathering mould, Building new stories we want to be told…

When it comes to you. the path that's true, don't be afraid - go weave your way. When it comes to you, that wave of blue, no need to escape, but liberate! yeahh yeh yeh yeh... We all belong, all have a song to offer in this world, it won't be long - your heart is strong: let the symphony unfurl... Remember Love, you are not alone, Remember Love, you have wisdom in your bones, Remember Love, we all share the earth as home, Remember Love, you are never alone. When it comes to you. the path that's true, don't be afraid - go weave your way. When it comes to you, that wave of blue, no need to escape, just know you're great! yeahh yeh yeh yeh... We all belong, all have a song to offer in this world, it won't be long - your heart is strong: let the symphony unfurl... Remember Love, you are not alone, Remember Love, you have wisdom in your bones, Remember Love, we all share the earth as home, Remember Love, you are never alone.

If we went down to our roots, what would we find there? If we went back to our roots, what would we find there? If we drank straight from the clearest stream and breathed the freshest air, if we got straight to the truth, and from our hearts shared - If we go down to our roots, what do we find there? If we go back to our roots, would do we find there?

about

In honour of the apple trees, and of following our hearts...

Tracks 1-4 were originally published in September 2018 as EP 'finding dashti', on digital and limited miniature CD-release only.

Track 5 was originally published on 'Midwinter Moon' (Badger & Ailsa), 2021.

I wanted to re-release these tracks on full-size CD whilst also showing the potential for the songs to be taken to a whole new level when joined by other musicians, which is my plan for a full new, properly-produced album next year...
